Sacramental Program (Grade 2)

This sacramental program is a two-year program. Students must attend Grade 1 Religious Education before entering the immediate preparation year in Grade 2. Students celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation in January and first Eucharist in May. In order to understand the preparation their children are receiving, parents are asked to attend

one meeting in the fall and one in the winter. In addition, both students and parents will attend “Retreats” on weekends prior to the celebration of each of these sacraments. Students celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation in January and first Eucharist in May.

Parish children who attend parochial school are more than welcome to receive these sacraments in our parish but are required to our program in Grade 2.

Confirmation Program (9 & 10) Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation is a two-year program. The program’s goal is to provide our young people with a solid knowledge of the Roman Catholic faith so that when they complete the second year they will be prepared to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Following the guidelines of the Diocese of Providence our program contains: Regular meetings of format class time, Days of recollection and or retreat, Service opportunities to the community and Church.

Liturgy of the Word for Children

Every weekend late September through mid-May, at the Saturday evening vigil Mass and Sunday at the 11AM Mass, children in grades 1-4 are invited to come to the Parish Center for Scripture readings suited to their level. They return to the community liturgy after the homily. If any adult wishes to participate in this ministry, please contact the

Religious Education office.

Vacation Bible School Glory Days are one week in June from 9:30AM to 12:30PM. This is a wonderful learning experience for children ages 3 through 10. Both teachers and assistants use their talents to create a memorable atmosphere. Through the use of varied materials and media, the teachers and children explore the Christian message of God’s love as seen in the life of Jesus. Teacher’s assistants are volunteer students who have completed Grade 5.
